Today, I took a trip to my favorite part of town ~ Harvard Square, Cambridge!
I absolutely LOVE the vibe in Cambridge and around Harvard square.
TJ had to do some volunteer work, so I had the afternoon all to myself..

There are lots of FUN FUN little artsy stores, great people, tons of vendors
music, and lots to do around. Not to mention, my favorite people live a
block or two away from the midst of this super fun artsy area. I always
find an excuse to getaway to "The Hammock" (What we've been
calling Sam & Izzy's pad forever now! Its such a relaxing feeling to
visit and just coast through the day!). *Fun Fact* - Izzy's real name
is actually Isabella Swan.. It doesn't get any better then that!

After shopping around and stopping to talk to a few fun people, we finally
got hungry and decided to go for a bite. I was really looking forward to
having an awesome burger as it had been a while since I ate at Bartleys, so
we decided to cruise over and visit.. Its usually a really crowded joint, but
it was a Friday work afternoon, so it was a dream come through to actually
walk in and not have to wait in line. Bartleys is ALWAYS CROWDED!!
We got a table right away and where really excited to take a look at the
menu although we all knew what we wanted way ahead
before even reaching the joint. lol.
Bartleys burger's menu is quiet extraordinary, it boasts funky names such as
"The Mayor Mumbles Menino Burger "*MY ALL TIME FAVORITE*
(The burger actually reminds you in retrospect of our
Mayor who mumbles quiet a bit.. lol.. It's hysterical..)
(1st non English speaking mayor) topped
w/ fried egg, bacon, cheese & fries)
"The Facebook" (watch for us in the movie) topped w/
BBQ sauce, & cole slaw, w/ French fries
"The Afghan"(attack this & you’ll never leave) TURKEY burger
w/ blue cheese dressing, hot sauce, and fries
"The Michelle Obama"(she’s hot & spicy) blue cheese burger
with cajun seasoning and french fries
All the burgers are very well moderately priced and affordable..
Bartleys is also very well known for their frappes<--Izzy's FAVORITE
and their Lime Rickey's <--MY FAVORITE!! YUMMY
The walls around the joint is filled with autograph's and historical plaques.
From Elvis to Marilyn Monroe and Famous Boxers. They have quiet
a great collection of original signatures and actual belongings to significant
and unique historical figures all around, it's exciting to read all the wall signs.
After browsing, we placed our orders, me and Sam decided to split a "mayor
mumbles menino burger", Izzy wanted nothing but her fav strawberry malt
frappe and sweet potato fries..(Note: FAV THING -- Izzy is SUPER awesome
for dipping her fries in her frappe.. It's sooo yummy! love it..) heehee..

The food wait was really quick, we started chatting up a storm for about 10mins,
when our beautiful waitress brought over our food. WHEW - That was quick.

| THIS BURGER IS SO HEAVENLY!!!!!! I KID YOU NOT!!! We all got really silent FAST!! "That's a sign of great food for the soul!" Every bite of my burger was unbelievable as always special and sinfully GREAT! I love how the egg breaks and drips all around each mouthful and the crispy bacon.. MMMM MMMMM FINGER LICKING GOOD!! |
They also have the best sweet potato fries around town...

I can't explain how great Bartleys is in words, it's a huge tourist favorite in the
area, and every burger on the menu is simply unique and has a feature of its
own that pertains to its one of a kind name. It's MUST visit if you are ever
in the Boston area. Its located directly across from the Harvard yard, and
shares a space next door to the Harvard book stores! You can't miss it!
It's an award winning showcase Boston joint and in a really awesome area for
you to kick back, enjoy some great food, trek to some fun artsy stores, and
enjoy great vendors, people and music all hours of the day. Really hope
you can stop in whenever you are in my city.. Ring me up for a burger!!
