Giving Back With Love...

I Made These AWESOME Back To School
Butterfly Packs For The Girls..
My Lovely Donations From The Heart
The Rock Star Packs For The Boys I Put Together
Hello Artsy friends stopping in today, T G I F!!!!!

I wanted to take a moment to reflect and share about the
awesome charity I made these really cute back to school packs for
as a donation. It's based here in the US, but gives back HARD & With
SO MUCH LOVE to the lovely children & people who
suffered the horrific tragedy in Haiti during the earthquake.
I cyber met Lyla and actually featured her in a post HERE.
She is one of the lovely co-founders of the charity. My good friend
Isabelle is very close to Haiti as well, she's been able to take time away
and volunteer in Haiti, holding it very close to her heart. It's touching to
see so many young people donating and making time outside of life as

Giving even this little means VOLUMES!!
I found everything here for about a dollar each...
we know it daily to give, help and build up hearts amongst the
people that need it
most. With my family,
it's hard to find time
to give back, but
this month, my fiance
volunteered at a local
shelter and had an
awesome time with
his team at work
packing up tons
of meals for an afternoon.

Acts of Love moves
me, it gives me
hope and excites me to know that
there are people out there with a willing heart and selfless thoughts on
their minds of the ones in need close and far away. I am from a war
torn homeland myself (Monrovia Liberia), it breaks my heart to see
my people suffer, be in need and want for the simplest things we
might all take for granted. I try every time I can, to sacrifice an
outfit, a want or something petty to save a pretty penny for
someone who needs it more. It might not be much, but the
Crayons, Rock Star Tags, Badges, Fun Pencils, Bracelets, Stickers.
act of love, of giving, alone
is enough to completely
fill me up with warmth..

Please take a moment to visit and read about Lyla's charity.
She's an awesome
and wonderful
individual on
a great team
coming together to
GIVE WITH LOVE....
http://loveconquersall.org/

I enjoyed putting all these little thoughtful packs together for the children. I really hope they enjoy each detail and love the artsy lil pouches. There's so
much within each to make any students day, and an
awesome back to school gift.. If you will like to place any
donations, please go to the site and donate online or contact
a member and set up a way to mail out whatever
you would like to give.
Fun Page Savers..
Note Pads & Tons Of Fun Lil Treats..

Growing All Too Fast..

Sia's Now A Toddler!!
T E A R S
......................
This Headband Has An Easy Fun Tutorial I'll Be Posting Shortly..
Hello artsy friends stopping in today..
How has the week been going..? I've been super swamped
with so much at work and around the house that crafting has become
a "lucky I get a chance to sit quietly" kind of task lately..
****THIS SADDENS ME MUCHO GRANDE***
I know this phase will move fast & hopefully soon..
*FINGERS CROSSED*

I made some really cute & fun headbands for Sia over the last day or so and
really can't wait to share the easy and fun tutorial with you.  Here's a link
to another fun and easy headband I made for her a lil while ago that
you can recap on in the meantime.. Flower Headband Tutorial
Recap From Previous Post
On another fun bitter sweet note, Sia will be starting a regular daycare soon.
I filled out the paper work and had a talk with all the lovely teachers today
and had to stop in my tracks as she was referenced to as "A TODDLER"..
I wanted to correct them and say - NO - BABY!!! (LOL) but I had to come
with terms with the fact that my little girl is now moving into the toddler zone.

I had a funny chat with my fiance about it, and he laughed saying I
really need to (as hard as it might be) ease into the fact that Sia's
no longer a baby. "WEEEEE" <---Pouting.....!!!!!!!

She's come such a long way and is into SO much now. Full on
pull ups, clearly understanding and uttering words, singing,
remembering movie scenes & Uuumm
A T T I T U D E <-Yup Like her Momma!! HAHAA!!

Its been a really fun process sharing and watching the children grow.
This summer has brought about a lot of fun and challenging changes
and its awesome to see us all hold it together as a family
and taking it one day at a time, all in love...

What have you done this summer..?
Any fun and challenging changes..?
S H A R E  Pwease!!!!

Thanks for stopping in as always...
Hope things are well with you and yours,

Dinner IN....

Artsy Eats
Simple Shrimp & Okra Fiesta
.....................

This is one of the easiest recipes to make EVER!! It's quick and delish!!
The ingredients are awesome, healthy & easy to find in your local market.

One of my favorite foods is Okra, being from Liberia and living in Ghana most
of my boarding school years, I had a great selection of okra dishes available
that I absolutely still love and make. This is one, I also enjoy banku and okra,
okra stew and rice and any fried okra recipes. Most people don't like it being
that it can be slimy but when cooked right it's actually not that bad. This recipe
I'm sharing with you is actually not slimy at all as fried okra can tend to dry
up most of the sliminess within due to the high heat and no water added.

Ready To Cook..?
Artsy Ingredients

Okra
Shrimp
Red Pepper Flakes
Garlic Powder
Salt
Vegetable Oil Or Butter
(YES LITERALLY THAT'S IT!!)

Put On Your Fav Apron & Lets Get Chopping!!

To begin, simply dice up your okra into little slices(1/4 inch pieces)

Set okra aside and rinse your shrimp in cold water & paper towel dry.

Season your shrimp with simple salt, pepper, garlic & mix all together.

Heat a skillet with about four tablespoon of oil until hot.

While heating, mix your okra with salt and garlic powder
(I honestly never measure anything, HA, I just go with the flow)

Add your seasoned okra to the skillet and stir fry for about 5mins.

Add your red pepper flakes (skip this if you aren't into spicy foods)

Fry okra for about a good 8mins and add in your shrimp.

Stir fry untill shrimp in pink and opaque / done to texture of your liking.
YES - THATS HOW QUICK THAT WHOLE MEAL TOOK TO MAKE!!

Serve with side dish of your choice, I honestly eat it as is, or sometimes add it
on to a small plate of rice.. It's healthy, FAST and a quickie dinner option
for your family. Hope you get to try this deliscious recipe.. Be sure to let
me know how it all comes together for you...

(PS: Sorry for the limited pics, I had a lil
spunky monkey 1year old at my feet!)

YES - THIS ONE!! My Lil Sia Pie..
Thanks for stopping in as always...
