Counting Blessings At Christmas...{Letter To My Son..}

Good evening lovely friends stopping in today.. Hope everyone is finally settled or getting
there in terms of finishing up all the fun and intricate details for the BIG DAY!!
*It's Caley EVE*
............Everyday With You
Is A Beautiful Blessing!!
In just a few hour's, I will have an E L E V E N
year old handsome little boy!! I can't believe how
swift the years flew by. I remember being pregnant,
scared, a bit lost but filled with SO much love! I had Caley on a beautiful day in December years ago,
it was the first day it actually snowed all year..I remember the nurses saying, you are
BLESSED, you are the only one to deliver
today and your son brought us SNOW..LOL!!
* * *
It was really awesome to have him on
Christmas eve, I felt so special as the hospital
had volunteers come in and sing carol's in
the various rooms, we had extra special
Christmas meals, and all my family from
around came up and spent long hours
hanging out and watching movies with us.
Life has simply been just that
much better ever since..
* * * *
I went out to pick a Birthday card for him this evening, it's always SO hard, I break down
EVERY year so I end up putting it off until the last minute.. !! It's very touching to read,
pick a card and have it say all the intricate lovely things I want him to know. I end up writing him the longest
cards as I can't help reliving all the wonderful
moments we share each day and how lucky I
am to be his mommy.. Although Caley's not my
only child, he is my first, and I can't explain the
love I felt just seeing him for the first time,
holding him, simply falling in love,
completely being mesmerized and
overwhelmed with happiness..
Its The MOST
BEAUTIFUL FEELING...
* * *
Tonight Dear Caley, as we count down to your
birthday, I want you to know I am truly honored
and SO proud to have you as my son. You bring
me SO much joy and endless day's of smiles. You are
caring, gentle, and not afraid to hold me in times of
sorrow, hug me tight with joy in happiness, bounce
me back on my down day's with laughter, and simply
be the first one to always say, "who cares about it
mom..? I love you..That's all that matter's remember..?"
Yes love, I remember, and always will no matter the low's and high's, changes through life as you
inch closer to leaving this nest of our's, you will never
out grow my heart, but always remain my very first
unconditional truest love..
I love you soooo much...
Sea's of kisses and ocean's of hugs...
Happiest Of Birthday's Caley.
...Love, always......
        ❤Mommy....

12 Hours Of Christmas Cheer ...{The SIP Project}

Good morning lovely friends stopping in today, hope everyone is having a lovely week so
far. It's been tedious trying to get ready for Christmas and I've been REALLY bad about
wrapping so far. Usually around this time of the year, I am filled with so many emotions
drawn from all sorts of places. I miss my family back home, I get a bit sad about it, and
then again, I get extremely overwhelmed with the idea that the day before Christmas is
my sons birthday. This year, in four day's he's turning ELEVEN! *Tears*. Arrrrgh
So much happening all at once but hopefully it's smooth sailing till Christmas
and I can get a grip and settle into some sort of stable area and tag along.
Remember, This December, That love
weighs more than gold! ~Josephine Dodge

The SIP Project....{Service Is Painless}
The S.I.P. Project

To kick off my 12Hours Of Christmas Cheer Series, I am spotlighting
and featuring an amazingly talented and inspiring bloggy friend of mine, De'Ann.
She's writer, creator and the genius behind The SIP Project.  De'Ann is a talented
photographer inspired by service. Her blog is dedicated to projects based upon giving
back and charity work. She gives So much of herself creatively by urging various families
to come together and commit to different charity services and projects, and have it all captured
through a photo series she puts together!! HOW INCREDIBLE..??? I can't express how much
I admire what she does and really look forward to so much more inspiring stories throughout
the new year. YOU have GOT to stop in and take a look. I promise you'll be touched and
inspired as much as I've been.. She's very humble and one of the sweetest person I've met
in the blog world. I'm really excited to share her story with you all today. Please join me
in welcoming the lovely De'Ann here from The SIP Project....
The Story Behind The SIP Project
De'Ann '"I struggled to figure out how I could use my talent of photography to
serve others and I am happy to say I have
found it through starting The SIP project
(Service Is Painless). Through this project
I can encourage others to use their talents,
passions or causes near to their heart to
help others. I take pictures and their only
payment is a service project. While this is
only the third service/picture project posted
I have 8 people / families in the process of completing their service projects and
other photo shoots in the works. What I have been impressed with the most is that those who do their service do not not have to commit to
anything long term however once
they start and fall in love with what they
are doing most have talked about
continuing to do it long term. Since my
blog has only been up two months there
still a lot of plans for my blog (just take
a look at some of my pages) I want
my blog to be a place where people
can come and get inspired by the
others service projects and enjoy
some great photography. I also
want my blog to be a place that
people preparing for a photo shoot
can come and get style inspiration from hair to nails to...Everything. I also love to display
photographs and have several DIY projects posted with many more fun and unique ideas on the way."
..........................................................
Who Is De'Ann...?
"I love to try new things and have tried my hand at many things, many of which have come and gone but the one that remains constant in my life is photography. It's my passion and one of the best ways I have found to slow done and live in the moment. Nearer still is my love for my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ and my husband and two kiddos they are my world! Life just wouldn't be life without them. I strive to find balance in life...try being the key word here. I have also learned to love being pushed out of my comfort zone because I know that's one great way for real growth to occur, for instance taking voice lessons...yikes! for me anyway. I also know
that when we do this we really learn a lot about ourselves, and how much we can really
accomplish when we set fear aside and
go for it. That is what I see people do when
they participate in The SIP projectand
it makes my heart smile."
...........................................
Spotlighting "The Tario's " Recent SIP Project Service Guests.......Photo Series/Story~ Tario's had to say about their service project." We had a hard time choosing our project for The S.I.P. project, mainly because our plans keep falling through. Initially we were going to head out to our favorite summer play spot, Santa Rosa Lake, which is about an hour from home. We planned to clean up the area around the lake following by a picnic and then one more round of clean up. However, weather, illness and traveling for work cancelled this plan. So, we revised our plan. We decided to make baby blankets to donate to a local hospital. We quickly realized, however, that the crazy price of fleece made that plan unmanageable. Frustrated, I searched for another service opportunity. I received an email from a friend about sending Christmas cards to veterans at Walter Reed Hospital. This seemed like a good idea, and after some research online we decided to send a small care package in addition to Christmas cards.
We had an opportunity to talk to our kids about the important service that our soldiers provide and why we appreciate their sacrifice. The kids really seemed to recognize the importance of supporting our troops, even our 6 year old. In the future I definitely think we will repeat this project, maybe even try to make it into a Christmas tradition. Now that I know the ins and outs of sending holiday care packages, I'll be able to put one together earlier so that it can make it by the holiday season. (The package we put together this time will not make it in time for Christmas, so we put together a more general package.) Overall, stumbling blocks aside, we really had a good time with this project. We learned that service is easier to complete when you pick something personal and close to home. We still plan to do a lake clean up when the weather improves and we've talked about doing a similar clean up at a nearby county park. "
............................................
I had a great and inspirational time working with the Tario's. I am very open to working with any photographer's, and hosting YOU as a guest
feature for post's pertaining to service and photography on my
blog. Please freely email me with projects you have in mind, are
working on or for photo service concept idea's for you and
your family to get involved in. Thanks so much for having
me here Marilyn, hope you all enjoyed my post,
you have been really...just awesome!
.............................................................
Isn't she AMAZING..? I absolutely admire
and adore all that De'Ann's doing with her passion
for service and photography. I LOVE the idea
that various families like the Tario's can indulge
their children in such thoughtful and heart
warming projects, allowing them to have a
great perspective of involvement and giving
back in simple fun way's.. and uuuum, a dashing
photo shoot should be the ultimate icing on the cake.. I LOVE THIS!!! SINCERE thanks De'Ann for stopping in and sharing your wonderful
story with us here today. I really appreciate what you do and look
forward to SO much more inspiring upcoming stories from you..
YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATION!!!
