Spring Saturday's..."Rag Tutu With Jane"

Welcome to another absolutely lovely

 Enjoying creativity per the season...

I am co-writing with my lovely co-host Jane today and she's got an amazing feature to share

that I absolutely simply adore...This is soo perfect for any little darling and I will bee

trying it out for my daughter..Fun, springy and easy...Lets get crafting with Jane..

Rag Tutu Tutorial........With Jane

I'm going to do something that I rarely do since I am not a naturally crafty type.  

I do have friends though that are and they shame me into one periodically.

I've noticed tonnes of rag tutus on the net and was thrilled to find a really easy 

tutorial that even someone like me could follow.  I'll give you a very 

rough description but if you want great details go here.

I started off with a variety of pretty fabrics.

Sewed (yes, not a typo, I actually sewed something).

We ripped fabric into lengths but also thought for fun that we'd also 

make a few using tuille ribbon that was found at the dollar store.

And started to tie (slip knots onto the waist band)...

and tie...

and tie until this is what we got.

A very active kiddo did not want to get her photo taken.

Until the pro stepped in and here's an actually fantastic photo taken by my friend Michelle.

Much, much better.

Hi! I'm Micki. Ok, kidding aside, I started blogging several years ago..back
when I had just four kids and lived in Oregon. I now have six children and live in
Alabama! Four girls, two boys. My children range in age from 3 to 15. My 15 year
old son has a form of high functioning autism called Aspergers Syndrome. My
school aged children all go to different schools. I "stay home" and pretend to
use my  college education write, edit, and create whatever comes to my fancy.

It's a life like this that makes it helpful to have ADD! A variety of interests, a 

variety of talents...and loads to talk about from home organization projects,  

recipes, and projects you'll pin but never actually get around to doing. I also 

coupon. A lot. But I'm not a hoarder, so they don't want me on 

that TV show. But I am good enough for local TV.

Vintage Tea Lights Mason Jars..

I Adore Everything VINTAGE!

BUT WHO DOESN'T ..?!?!?

This afternoon, I decided to create some new candle

tea light holder's for my kitchen counter top! Much Over due!

I've been getting into shades of pinks and found this old 
craft paper in my craft stash bin to put to use!.
Whatcha Thinking..? 
* Vintage Tea Light Mason Jars *

I stained the paper to make it look
much older than it was and it turned out awesome.

The Artsy Items Needed
Mason Jars..............Craft Paper
Old craft stash floral pieces..........Burlap(just the rope strips)
Glue gun.............. And see HERE for staining if needed for your paper.

Lets Craft Away

To begin, find your paper pieces you would like to use. Michael's has great selections.
Mine is really old. I purchased this paper I think mid last year for a project.
Fit your paper to jar and cut up as many as you need. I made four jars.
Crinkle up the paper (gives it an even older vintage look and stain).
After staining, hot glue your paper to your jars.

I decided to make the jar look a little bit more pretty by adding some floral pieces

and strings from a patch of burlap. (I wanted to use natural rope, but didn't have any),

so this worked out perfectly. Turned out better than I thought it will as I love how

light and airy the burlap strings where. (Literally pull the strings out of a piece

of burlap and attach next to your flower and around the jars)

..................Voila!
Something a bit new turned old fashioned & fun!
I simply love my new tea light holder's..

Easy, Fun & Festively Vintage..

What photography is/means to you 

Photography is an itch that always needs scratching. I so want to get 

better and better, and I love doing photos for people 

and seeing their enjoyment in what shot.

Your favorite thing to shoot 

People Or Things At The Beach 

Your favorite shot you took (EVER!<--lol) 

My all time favorite is either my last sunset shot while in Hawaii, or 

one of children on rocks at the ocean, and whale is breaching right 

beside them. They were clueless as they were looking down.

Photographers you look up to, inspire you 

Too many to list. I love different photographers for different things. I spotted 

Erich McVey over a year ago, followed him, he ended up shooting my son's 

wedding, and now he's a rising star. I like to think I saw the star before it rose.  

I also love Gabriel/Boone photography. I follow lots of photography 

blogs, and Becky at Shaking the tree does some amazing things.

What are you shooting with :  Canon 5D

Your future goals in your photography journey 

Immediate goal is to shoot only in manual (which I've been doing for awhile) 

and to tackle Photoshop elements. It's time! My family thinks I need to stop 

"giving it away", but as long as I enjoy what I'm doing, I'm happy.
