Describe yourself in three words: Laid-back (Is 

that one word .. I guess so), trustworthy and friendly.

What does photography mean to you: 

I feel like all though school and things I have never picked up a hobby that I 

am good at or have enjoyed for more then a week. Then my little guy was born and 

I just couldn't help taking pictures of everything he did (not that he did a lot when 

he was first born). Then my sister came along with her fancy camera and took 

one picture of him which looked so awesome and it was then I knew I wanted 

a DSLR myself. Since then my love for photography grows more and 

more as I learn new tricks. For me I just love capturing my little guy.  

What are you working w/ {camera, lens's, fav editing tools, accessories}: 

I have a Nikon D3100 with a 50-200mm lens.To organise and do some basic 

editing I use a free, yes FREE! programme called Photoscape. Then If I 

want some more fancy editing or text then I use things likePiccy.com.

What are a few items on your photography gear wish list: 

My poor hubby is always getting told what new lenses I want to get. 

I think my next buy will be a 50mm prime lens to get those sharp shots.

What is your most FAVorite photograph you've ever taken, & why:

I have a few and yes they are all of Josh, he's my baby what can I say :D

Two of them really capture his eyes beautifully and the 

other is just the most cutest face ever.

Where would you like your photography journey to be in a year: 

Well I actually have a few people lined up wanting small photo sessions 

with me, so hopefully one day I would love to create a small photo business 

specailising in children's photography. With maybe an extra 

little one on the way in our little family to photograph ;)

Blueberry Smoothie *~ Spring Saturdays With Jane~*

It is so beautiful here today that I just couldn't say 

*Happy Saturday*, it needed MORE.

Artsy Girl and myself here in the midst of all your weekend activities.

I know it's been muffin week this week but I thought I'd finish 

things off by offering one of my favourite on-the-go breakfasts. 

~* Blueberry Smoothie *~

You see, I'm late to the smoothie party. 

I actually don't like juice (ok, fermented into wine is a different story) 

and always viewed smoothies as juice. Until small one's babysitter started making 

them for her on days that they were on the run to somewhere.  She became hooked.

She started to demand them (but in a cute two year old way or sometimes 

in a not so cute two year old way)...Thus I started to produce them.

Over the next few Saturdays I'll share ones that I've 

discovered recently but this one is our favourite still.

Note:  heartshaped icecubes are optional.

I round up my usual suspects; chunks of pineapple and yogurt...

icecubes, orange juice and blueberries.

For four smoothies I use; 1 cup of pineapple, 1/2 cup orange juice, 3/4 cup yogurt 
(I use whatever needs to be tended to first in the fridge), 1 cup ice and 1 cup blueberries.

Whizz in the blender until smooth (gee, wonder where the name came from?)

And start your Saturday run around C:

Happy, Forgiven, Hopeful(ps... this is hard)
What does photography mean to you: 
Capturing Memories.  I, like a lot of photographers, got into this whole 
thing to take clearer pictures of my daughter. I loved capturing her smiles, 
and chubby baby rolls ;). So I bought my first dslr last year 
and absolutely fell in love with photography. 
What are you working w/ {camera, lens's, fav editing tools, accessories}: 
I use a Canon Rebel xti and usually I use my 50mm 1.8 lens.  It is my 
favorite, I got it for Christmas and my poor little kit lens 
gets very little attention now.
What are a few items on your photography gear wish list: 
Well... I really haven't thought about that much.  I guess a speedlight and 
indoor gear.  I really would love to have one of the big expensive camera 
bodies, it would just be really nice to take indoor shots and not have to 
worry about cranking up the ISO, but I am just learning to be 
the best I can with what I have. 

What is your most FAVorite photograph you've ever taken, & why: 
This is a really hard one, I've taken so many, but I think my favorite 
right now is this one of my daughter.  We were playing outside and it 
just captures her happy, silly spirit, I think. 
Where would you like your photography journey to be in  a year: 
I would love to have a successful business or at least be on my way to one.  
I really love newborn photography so hopefully that will be a huge part of it.

My mom surprised us to give us a night off from LIFE as we know it. We've really had a

hard and stressful week. This totally called for friends and some much needed time out!

Spring Saturdays *Grapefruit Martini~*

Happy Saturday and thanks so 

very much for being here.

I've visited almost all of your projects from Thursday, all of 

you from last week and can't wait to see what you are up to now.

So very, very talented the whole lot of you!

For my Saturday I decided to make a special cocktail.

A grapefruit martini

(it's fruit, that has to be healthy C:)

I started with 3 VERY fat grapefruits and

1 1/2 cups of sugar.

I juiced the grapefruit into the sugar and boiled until thick (about 10 minutes).

At that point you have a great syrup that you could brush onto cakes, 

mix with soda water or...make a fab cocktail with using:

1/2 shot of the syrup, 1 shot really good vodka, 2 icecubes and

top with bubbly water.  I love my seltzer maker (I'm cheap and this 

thing has save me oodes of money after the initial purchase) 

but feel free to use any bubbly water.

Ahhhh..this makes the whole week seem a bit brighter C:
